Doctopmaru aka Garrett Young

Doctopmaru aka Garret Young is a 23 year old artist working out of Oklahoma City. His drawings are quiet and self contemplative but my favorite part about his work is how the faces are there in great detail, but you can never quite make out any details at all. Like all the faces will eventually fade off the page if stared at for too long.

"in the dream i was with a group of friends that differed in number periodically. at the beginning of the dream it was just me and one other person. we were going to a cabin in the woods in asheville, NC that belonged to our friend's parents. i was driving my old truck and having difficulty with all the intense hills and mountains. at one point i was at a stoplight on an extreme incline, and i was worried the car was going to tumble over if i didn't move soon. we had bicycles in the back of the truck so we switched to those at some point, but my tire went flat after a few minutes. eventually we got to the cabin. at that point it was myself and two couples. my dad showed up there. he kept saying he was going to leave but was taking forever. my friends left before my dad, but eventually they came back, and then he left. i think there were about 5 of us then. we went out on foot and ended up in a cityscape. there was a lot of traffic. for some reason the cops were after us. we marched on, ignoring them. they had trouble getting to us because of all the traffic. we were all wearing costumes. i was wearing a white bear costume with a jackolantern face. there was some argument in our group as to whether or not we should stop for the cops. i was one of the people who wanted to ignore them. when they finally stopped us successfully, nothing happened.
after some time of more walking, we ended up in an amusement park. i went into this one area that was surrounded by chain link fences. my friend BC was there with someone else, and she said to me, "beware of suffocation." as she said this i read the same phrase on a sign outside of the attraction. at this point there were, i think, 3 couples, one single person, and myself. someone was telling me--or maybe i was reading--the idea behind the fenced-off area i was now standing in. it was full of flowers that gave off poisonous gasses. the point of it in the amusement park was "the danger." it had a fake boat-type seating area where one of the couples and the other single person, who was probably like 12 or 13, were sitting. one of the couples went into these long plastic tubes that ended in extremely long slides. i wanted to go into the tubes/down the slides, but i thought i would be interrupting them making out or something. the name of the poisonous flowers was "daimelotra." there was confusion about whether the flowers were called daimelotra or damiana.
